BackCheck recently discovered that there is a company available to your candidates who will, for a fee, provide a fake reference interview. CareerExcuse.com will act as a previous employer for your candidate, providing fake information about past employment and performance.

BackCheck believes that lying on a resume or providing a fake reference interview is in fact a form of fraud and make it our job to ensure that you do not fall victim to such scams.

BackCheck wanted to catch this company in the act, so we created a fake resume and employment profile for a fictional candidate. We paid the $200 fee and then filmed one of our professional reference interviewers taking the reference from Career Excuse.
